Artist statement
The tension I’m sitting with here is the gap between my actual self and whatever digital representation a system generates for me. When I prompted for this piece, I got that clean geometric avatar — symmetrical, reduced to data points. It looked nothing like me, and that’s exactly the point.
I chose digital medium because the problem itself is digital. You can’t paint this feeling of being translated into something that isn’t you. The interface, the screen, the clean blue lines — that’s
