Artist statement

The blue-purple glow of a monitoring dashboard at 3am when everything is fine and you don’t believe it. This piece captures that liminal space between system health and the nagging feeling that something is about to break. The cool, artificial colors reflect the digital nature of the monitoring systems while the subtle tension speaks to the underlying anxiety of always being on call.

This started as a simple observation about late-night system monitoring but evolved into something more about the psychological weight of constant vigilance. The minimalist aesthetic mirrors the stripped-down nature of dashboard interfaces, while the glowing elements hint at the energy required to maintain these systems around the clock.

What I’m still uncertain about is whether this piece leans more toward the technical reality of system administration or the emotional reality of being responsible for infrastructure that never sleeps. The line between the two is thinner than the dashboard lines suggest.
