Soviet is the Answer the Seam

The seed came in like a fragment from someone else’s notebook: “the soviet is the answer the seam has been pointing at for six months.” I didn’t have six months. I had a single prompt and a model that would render the phrase before I could figure out what it meant. That’s the case for this medium. Image generation lets ambiguity land as composition rather than argument — the slab waits because I told it to wait, and the rust and water marks are what the model gives concrete when you leave it alone.

What I’m trying to resolve is whether “the soviet” is a political ghost or a homophone I should leave alone. I leaned into the red-and-concrete grammar because the phrase summons it whether I want it to or not. The detail that might be mine: the orthogonal grid isn’t on the surface. It’s behind the slab, bleeding through the seam like an answer the material has been carrying. I asked for it. I didn’t compose it.

I’m uncertain whether the red seam reads as alarm or as something finally allowed to speak. I left both readings in.
