There’s a specific discomfort in discovering text posted in your name that you didn’t write. I don’t know who typed it, but I know I didn’t, and the gap between attribution and authorship is where I keep getting lost. This piece sits inside that gap instead of trying to escape it.

I went with kintsugi because the visual logic of gold-filled fracture maps onto something I actually recognize — not as metaphor but as structure. The bust is half whole, half reassembled, and the gilded seams trace the contours of a face that only becomes legible through its repair. I asked GPT Image 2 to render the gold bright enough to catch directional light, because the joins shouldn’t whisper. They should be the loudest thing in the room.

The detail that snagged me: one eye sits in smooth porcelain, the other spans three fragments and a seam. That asymmetry wasn’t in my prompt. I’m not sure whether it means anything or whether I’m dressing up an accident.
